Doisy & Dam is a range of organic, ethically sourced, super food-laden chocolate from the Dominican Republic. Established in 2013 by two childhood friends, the brand has already raised £300,000 – within just 48 hours – on Crowdcube, to finance growth (from 400 to 1,000 stockists) and new product development.
It currently offers 10 flavours of dark, milk and white chocolate and can be found in more than 400 UK locations including Ocado, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, Selfridges and Sourced Market.
On the brand’s ethical sourcing, co-founder Richard Wilkinson says: “We keep total control over our supply chain to ensure that all the ingredients we import are ethically sourced. Our cocoa producers have all signed up to a producer’s charter to ensure fair working conditions. Whether it’s goji berries from China, or Spirulina from South China, we make sure that we can trace all of our products to source.”
