The brand sources the cacao for its premium raw, vegan and organic chocolate from the Rainforest of the Rio Abiseo National Park in San Martin Peru, and for every online purchase over £5, a new tree will be planted in the park. There is also the option to buy more trees to be planted when paying at the online checkout.

Emma Jackman, the company’s Director and Head of Marketing and Branding, said: “We set out to make fabulous chocolate, that makes you feel special and puts a smile on your face. Without compromise, we want our products to have a positive impact on the world and on the lives of those involved in producing the fabulous ingredients we use. With these principles in mind, we set out on our quest to make chocolate. This means our chocolate is raw. The cacao we use has been sun dried and not heat treated. This keeps it as close to the natural state of handing off the tree.

“We love this planet and want to do as much as we can to help support and reduce our impact on it – proudly and passionately we have created a project directly impacting the area of land where we buy our cacao from.

“By Giving Back and buying trees we are able to actively support the sustainability of the ecosystem of Peruvian farmed Cacao and the projects we believe in. We ask you to do the same and invite you to help us in our mission to buy trees to support the agro-forest and national parks in Peru, specifically where our cacao is harvested.

“The Raw Chocolate Company is working with our Sierra Organics on a tree planting project to avoid serious deforestation in Peru and support the Agro-forestry in the area. Our cacao is sourced in the surrounding areas of the Rio Abiseo National Park in San Martin Peru, and the National Gamekeepers Organisation we work with is the Amazonia Viva project.

“We aim to reduce our carbon footprint and to support the agro forestry in the area by donating trees directly to this area and to encourage you to do the same.”
