Smug Money podcast #15: (Sustainable) money makes the world go round

Written by Jen Gale on 29th Oct 2020

While we all know about the importance of lifestyle changes like recycling more and eating less meat, where we choose to put our savings and pensions has infinitely more power to change the world for the better – and yet it isn’t something that gets talked about much.

But this is beginning to change. In his new Netflix documentary A Life On Our Planet, Sir David Attenborough concludes that investing sustainably is one of the most powerful things we can all to do help save the Earth from the devastating effects of climate change.

Here, Jen Gale – founder of the Sustainable-ish blog – interviews Victoria Leggett and Eli Koen of Union Bancaire Priveé about how we can all help to solve the world’s problems through investment, and what needs to happen in the finance industry to make it more accessible to everyone.

Remember, none of what you will hear constitutes financial advice and if you invest on the basis of this podcast, you do so at your own risk. Past performance is not a guide to future performance, and you could lose all your capital.
